One bride from Russia, who dreamt of life and future with the person she loved, was forced to see his lifeless body just hours after tying the knot. According to Mirror Online, the groom identified as Radu Cordinianu was shot dead by two guests from the bride’s side just hours into the wedding celebration. The groom’s brother, Philip Cordinianu was also a victim of the attack.
The devastating incident unfolded at a country club in the village of Vlasovo in Moscow on 22 January 2021. Reports stated that the gun violence occurred as a result of a scuffle that took place between the groom and the suspected murderers, Alexey D and Vladimir D, on the second day of the wedding festivities. The 34-year-old groom and his brother were shot six or seven times by the killers.

Video footage from the event showed the newly wedded couple enjoying their big day just hours before the unfortunate killings took place. The helpless bride identified as Christina took to social media to speak of the inexplicable agony that was caused due to the shocking event. In a post on Instagram, the bride wrote, “How am I going to live without you, my beloved man?”
She continued, “I will always be your wife. I promise. You are my only one. We will be together forever. Just be there, look at me from above, and I will fulfil all our dreams for you so that you are proud of me. Sleep well, my dear.”
She concluded by saying, “I will try to survive this pain.” The bride’s heartbreaking words touched the hearts of many users. They commented on the post and encouraged her. They also wished her more strength to get through the tough phase. Meanwhile, the investigation of the case is still ongoing.
In another incident from India in 2018, a groom who got shot hours before tying the knot completed the wedding ceremonies with the bullet lodged in his shoulder. According to the BBC, two men opened fire at the groom’s wedding procession. After being shot, the groom was immediately taken to the hospital. Though the doctors managed to stop the bleeding, they could not remove the bullet. So, the groom went back to the wedding ceremony and married his bride. Soon after, he returned to the hospital to get the bullet operated out. The groom alleged that he was shot with an “intention to kill”.
