Dr. Phil is the proud papa to two new rescue puppies!

He met the two newest members of his family, Blue and Einstein, at the Safe in Austin animal rescue.

He and wife Robin McGraw brought the beautiful babies home in late August. They’ve already grown tremendously, as has the couple’s love for them.

Rescuing animals has always meant a lot to Dr. Phil. He believes in the healing power of the bond between animals and humans. Now he’s showing it through a new passion project.

Safe in Austin is one of the rescues featured in Dr. Phil’s new show, That Animal Rescue Show. Dr. Phil opened up about the project in conversation with Entertainment Tonight.

“We’ve got animals that have all been abused or were born with some type of malady. We bring in children that have similar issues, and it’s just amazing to see how they get together and heal each other.”

The 10-episode series explores the bonds we can form with all different types of animals. Dr. Phil’s favorite was a turkey.

“They’ve got a turkey down there, and it has a malformed claw. They call it its special fin,” he shared.

“There’s two little girls down there that have congenital defects with their hands. The three of them just became the three musketeers.”

That Animal Rescue Show is streaming now on CBS All Access.
