Ohio soldier Janna Berger was set to receive her Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in a different city, which kept her away from home for months. Her loyal dog, Murphy, was hopelessly heartbroken ever since Janna left town. Janna’s family had no idea how to comfort Murphy, as he would linger around her room and sob all day.
The video below captures Janna’s homecoming after 8 months of training. One would think that a forlorn Murphy would instantly come running to reunite with his mom, but that’s hardly the case here! As he watches Janna from afar, he fails to recognize her in her soldier attire and freaks out on having a stranger lurking around!
Janna is left hanging as a confused Murphy makes a U-turn and refuses to engage with her despite her calling out his name. Her heart sinks, but Murphy gradually registers the familiarity in her voice and her scent! When he finally walks toward her, he loses his mind to find his favorite face camouflaged in that non-civilian outfit!
Despite Murphy’s delayed reaction, his euphoric reunion with Janna beams with so many emotions! After aching to see her for such a long time, he sure gives her the grand welcome she deserves. This blissful, one-of-a-kind reunion has been etched on our hearts permanently!
